Introduction
The 2023-24 SkyBox E-X 2000 Hockey is a throwback set that has been refreshed and renewed. This unique release brings nostalgia but comes with a hefty price tag—thanks, in part, to what many are calling Bedard-flation.
At $320-$350 per box, and set to release on March 12, 2024, this set isn’t cheap, especially considering that you’re not even guaranteed an autograph.
Release Details
- Release Date: March 12, 2024
- Price: $320-$350 CAD
- Box Configuration: 24 packs per box, 2 cards per pack
An odd layout, but a unique experience nonetheless.
Base Set & Parallels
- Base Set: 150 cards
- Last 50 cards feature rookies

- Parallels Include:
- All-Access Credentials (1:108 packs, Rookies – 1:216 packs)
- Credentials – /499
- Blue Credentials – /299
- Essential Credentials – /99
- Gold Essential Credentials – /50
- All-Access Gold Credentials – /10
- Printing Plates – 1/1
- VIP Credentials – 1/1
Autographs & Hit Potential
Unlike many high-end sets, autos are not guaranteed. On average, 1 autograph per 3 boxes, making them a tough pull.

Autographs can be found in:
- Autographics
- Index Movers
- Star Date
The big chase? A Connor Bedard rookie auto, which is where the real value lies. However, given the sheer volume of Bedard cards already on the market, its impact may be diminishing.
Inserts & Odds
A variety of inserts add depth to the product:
- Star Date 3000 – 1:6 packs
- Index Movers – 1:8 packs
- Hall or Nothing – 1:30 packs
- Net Assets – 1:27 packs
- Reverberation – 1:40 packs
- Double Helix – 1:288 packs (Rare)
- E-Xceptional – 1:576 packs (Super Rare)

Final Thoughts & Recommendations
Is this set worth it?
- At over $300 per box, it feels overpriced. The high price is largely driven by the possibility of a Bedard rookie auto, but at this point, his market feels oversaturated.
- It’s a unique, nostalgic set, and in any other situation, I’d be excited to grab one. But given the odds and price, I’ll be passing on this release.
